I was about 13 years old when my mum got me to start sewing. I spent many years not sewing. I started sewing again when I discovered patchwork when I was 45 years old. I love being creative. My sewing machines are not for mending hems as I dislike doing repairs.
I find sewing very restful and it gets the creative juices flowing.
I cannot live without my Pfaff machines and I always try to keep measurements correct. I use the Pfaff Icon 2 for embroidery work and a Pfaff Quilt Ambition 630 as well as the Moxie Longarm with Pro-Stitcher Lite for quilting.
I make patchwork quilts for sale. I also do embroidery both for myself and for some customers. I'm currently learning garment sewing for myself.
Sewing is a hobby for me and I spend between 12 and 20 hours sewing a week. I worked in my own business for many years and didn't have a lot of spare time. Now that I'm retired I have lots of spare time to sew and socialise with like minded ladies. I belong to a wonderful group of ladies who sew and we meet twice a month.
A favourite project that I completed was a fully embroidered queen bed cover called Fantasia by Zundt designs. I follow patterns mainly , but I do get creative with my patchwork.
